Below is our written Statement of Faith and beliefs. Each tenet is a core part of who we are as a School and Staff, and is reflected in the way we conduct ourselves in every aspect of life.
Statement of Faith
• We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons- The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:1 (AMP) In the beginning God (prepared, formed, fashioned, and) created the heavens and the earth.
John 1:1 (AMP) In the beginning [before all time] was the Word ([a]Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God [b]Himself.
Genesis 1:26 (AMP) God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image
• We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ and His virgin birth. We also believe that He led a sinless life, performed miracles, died on the cross for our sins, was buried and raised from death unto eternal life on the third day. He is now at the right hand of the Father in Heaven and will soon come again in power and glory to reign for eternity.
Isaiah 7:14 (AMP) Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign: Behold, the young woman who is unmarried and a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel [God with us].
Luke 1:35 (AMP) Then the angel said to her, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you [like a shining cloud]; and so the holy (pure, sinless) Thing (Offspring) which shall be born of you will be called the Son of God.
John 3:16 (AMP) For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten ([a]unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.
John 10:28-30 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never lose it or perish throughout the ages. [To all eternity they shall never by any means be destroyed.] And no one is able to snatch them out of My hand. My Father, Who has given them to Me, is greater and mightier than all [else]; and no one is able to snatch [them] out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are One.
Hebrews 4:15 (AMP) For we do not have a High Priest Who is unable to understand and sympathize and have a shared feeling with our weaknesses and infirmities and liability to the assaults of temptation, but One Who has been tempted in every respect as we are, yet without sinning.
Ephesians 1:7 (AMP) In Him we have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor,
Romans 8:9 (AMP) But you are not living the life of the flesh, you are living the life of the Spirit, if the [Holy] Spirit of God [really] dwells within you [directs and controls you]. But if anyone does not possess the [Holy] Spirit of Christ, he is none of His [he does not belong to Christ, is not truly a child of God].
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (AMP) For I passed on to you first of all what I also had received, that Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for our sins in accordance with [what] the Scriptures [foretold], That He was buried, that He arose on the third day as the Scriptures foretold
Mark 16:6 (AMP) And he said to them, Do not be amazed and terrified; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, Who was crucified. He has risen; He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.
Acts 2:31-33 (AMP) He, foreseeing this, spoke [by foreknowledge] of the resurrection of the Christ (the Messiah) that He was not deserted [in death] and left in Hades (the state of departed spirits), nor did His body know decay or see destruction. This Jesus God raised up, and of that all we [His disciples] are witnesses. Being therefore lifted high by and to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father [a]the promised [blessing which is the] Holy Spirit, He has made this outpouring which you yourselves both see and hear.
• We believe every human-being is born a sinner and can only find total forgiveness and salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and by making Him the Lord of their life.
Romans 10:9-10 (AMP) Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a person believes (adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Christ) and so is justified (declared righteous, acceptable to God), and with the mouth he confesses (declares openly and speaks out freely his faith) and confirms [his] salvation.
Romans 3:22-23 (AMP) Namely, the righteousness of God which comes by believing with personal trust and confident reliance on Jesus Christ (the Messiah). [And it is meant] for all who believe. For there is no distinction, Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory [b]which God bestows and receives.
Ephesians 2:8 (AMP) For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved ([a]delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God;
1 John 1:9 (AMP) If we [freely] admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just (true to His own nature and promises) and will forgive our sins [dismiss our lawlessness] and [continuously] cleanse us from all unrighteousness [everything not in conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action].
• We believe the Holy Spirit is given to all believers in Jesus Christ when they are born-again and that His gifts (including divine healing, speaking in other tongues, laying on of hands) are available for believers today to empower them for living a victorious life as witnesses for Christ.
Acts 1:8 (AMP) But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.
John 14:26 (AMP) But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.
Ephesians 4:30 (AMP) And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God [do not offend or vex or sadden Him], by Whom you were sealed (marked, branded as God’s own, secured) for the day of redemption (of final deliverance through Christ from evil and the consequences of sin)
Acts 2:38 (AMP) And Peter answered them, Repent (change your views and purpose to accept the will of God in your inner selves instead of rejecting it) and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of and release from your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
1 Corinthians 14:1-2 (AMP)
Eagerly pursue and seek to acquire [this] love [make it your aim, your great quest]; and earnestly desire and cultivate the spiritual endowments (gifts), especially that you may prophesy ([a]interpret the divine will and purpose in inspired preaching and teaching). For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands or catches his meaning, because in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the understanding].
• We believe in the authority of the believer to live a triumphant, abundant life in Christ.
Genesis 1:28 (AMP) And God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it [using all its vast resources in the service of God and man]; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth.
Mark 16:17-18 (AMP) And these attesting signs will accompany those who believe: in My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages; They will pick up serpents; and [even] if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get well.
John 10:10(AMP) The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it [a]overflows).
Romans 8:37A (AMP) Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors [a]and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.
Mark 10:29-30 (AMP) Jesus said, Truly I tell you, there is no one who has given up and left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for My sake and for the Gospel’s Who will not receive a hundred times as much now in this time—houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions—and in the age to come, eternal life.
• We believe God has a plan and a purpose for every person which is only to be found in Jesus Christ.
Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV) For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Psalm 139:16 (AMP) Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them.
Proverbs 19:21 (AMP) Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand.
• We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible, authoritative, all sufficient Word of God.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (AMP) Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action), So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.
2 Peter 1:19-21 (NKJV) And so we have the prophetic word confirmed,[a] which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,[b] for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God[c] spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
• We believe that every believer is to grow and mature through the study of the Bible, prayer, and the renewing of the mind to God’s Word, the Bible.
Proverbs 1:7 (AMP) The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning and the principal and choice part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; but fools despise skillful and godly Wisdom, instruction, and discipline.
Proverbs 9:10-11 (AMP) The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning (the chief and choice part) of Wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight and understanding. For by me [Wisdom from God] your days shall be multiplied, and the years of your life shall be increased.
Romans 12:2 (AMP) Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].
Hebrews 4:12 (AMP) For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the [a]breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.
Philosophy Of Education
We believe that Christian Education is a matter of conviction and not preference. That conviction is based upon what we find in the Bible concerning parents educating their children. The following scriptures give us God’s view and instruction for teaching and educating our children. We believe that if we will teach, train and educate them based on the Word of God that they will receive a firm foundation on which to build their lives.
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION IS THE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY OF PARENTS.
Keystone Christian School will partner with the family and the church to carry out the mandates of scripture as they relate to children. (Deuteronomy 6:4-9, 11:18-21; I Samuel 1:27-28; Psalm 78:1-7, 127:3; Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:4)
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION HAS THE PRIMARY GOAL AS THE SALVATION AND DISCIPLESHIP OF THE NEXT GENERATION.
It is our goal to first and foremost ensure that our students develop a true relationship with God and are prepared to share his message of salvation with others. (Genesis 18:19; Psalm 78:6-7; Matthew 28:19-20; John 14:6)
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION IS BASED ON GOD'S WORD AS ABSOLUTE TRUTH AND HOLDS JESUS CHRIST AS THE PREEMINENT IN ALL OF LIFE AND LEARNING.
We want to instill the Truth of God’s Word as the foundation for all aspects of life and learning. At Keystone Christian School, things that are spiritual are not separated or excluded from things that are academic, but interwoven. (Matthew 19:13-14; Luke 2:46-51; John 14:6; Colossians 2:3; John 1:1; 2 Timothy 3:16)
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION BUILDS UP THE SPIRITUAL, ACADEMIC, SOCIAL, EMOTIONAL AND MORAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE NEXT GENERATION, RESULTING IN A BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW.
We will prepare our students, spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally, and morally to go out into the world confident in who they are and what God has called them to do. (Psalm 119; Proverbs 1:7; Ephesians 6:10-18; 1 Thessalonians 4:1; Hebrews 12:1; James 1:5-6; 1Peter 1:24; 1 John 2:5-6; 1 John 5:3-5)
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION IS TAUGHT BY COMPETENT AND COMMITTED EDUCATORS WHO UNDERSTAND AND INTEGRATE A BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW IN ALL CURRICULA AND INSTRUCTION, ENHANCING SCHOLARSHIP AND INTELLECTUAL PURSUIT.
We will ensure that our faculty and staff are the people we want our students to be like – Christians who follow after Jesus’ example; People who are life long educators and life long learners. (Job 22:22; Psalm 1:2; Daniel 12:3; Matthew 18:6; Luke 6:40; I Corinthians 11:1)
CHRISTIAN EDUCATION RESULTS IN TRUE WISDOM; CONNECTING A BIBLICAL WORLDVIEW WITH ETERNAL PURPOSE.
We will help our students connect what they are learning in the classroom to what happens in real life. Giving them the opportunities to be hands on with their learning, connecting their Biblical Worldview with their God given eternal purpose. (Genesis 1:28, 26:4; Proverbs 3:19, 9:10; Jeremiah 29:11; John 15:10; Colossians 2:1-3)
